The beaches and forests of La Faute-sur-Mer
Bordered to the east by the river Le Lay, behind which lies the commune of l’Aiguillon sur Mer, La Faute-sur-Mer is bordered to the west by an uninterrupted beach of fine sand, 8 km long.
Take a walk on one of the 4 beaches of La Faute-sur-Mer: the Grande Plage, the Plage des Bélugas (with a nautical centre with stand up paddle, sand yacht…), the Plage des Chardons and finally the Plage des Barriques. There is also a nudist beach at the end of the Pointe d’Arçay, called Anse de la Barrique. Note also that on these 4 beaches, swimming is supervised.
The national nature reserve of the casse de Belle-Henriette and the biological reserve of the Pointe d’Arçay are part of the environmental heritage to be discovered during your stay at camping Les Violettes in La Faute-sur-Mer.
Also to be discovered: the Rade of Love observatory, which presents natural areas, mussel farming and oyster farming.

The shops in La Faute sur mer
Market: the heart of the town centre is animated on Thursdays and Sundays, from April to October, by the market in the Place de la Mairie.
The marina, which accommodates more than 250 boats during the summer months, is a popular place to visit.
Stroll through the town centre and enjoy the small shops, restaurants and various activities such as bumper cars and petanque tournaments.
The Casino
The Casino des Dunes, overlooking the beaches of La Faute-sur-Mer, offers over 50 slot machines! It is open all year round, every day of the week.

The cycle paths of La Faute sur mer
Cross La Faute-sur-Mer and go to l’Aiguillon-sur-Mer to discover the Pointe de l’aiguillon, or go camping by the sea and cross the lagoon and nature reserve of the Belle Henriette. Our campsite has a bicycle rental service, so you will no longer have any secrets about the fauna and flora of the Vendée!
Hiking by the sea in La Faute sur mer
La Faute-sur-Mer is ideally situated for many routes to discover the Vendée. Head for the Marais Poitevin, take a walk on the banks of the Lay river, discover the Vendée beaches and pass by the house of Clemenceau, there is something for everyone!
Discover the maritime footpath of l’Aiguillon-sur-Mer: a 5km circuit of about 1h20, easy with little difference in altitude. The footpath from the campsite to the port of Moricq: 7km or 1h50 through the canals to discover the surrounding nature. Other circuits run along the coast towards La Tranche sur Mer or further afield for the brave, ask at the campsite!
